About the author
My military service pales next to the achievements of the Greatest Generation, but I'll mention it just the same. A graduate of Howard University and longtime resident of the Washington Metro Area, I also worked 35 years as a writer, analyst and consultant for civilian and defense organizations. Moonlighting as a ghost, I researched and wrote African American history speeches, articles and presentations to cover the costs of educating my two legacy Americans. I was honored to spend time with African American veterans of WWII services, air corps, artillery, infantry, medical and armored units. Many, like my father, served with Fifth Army in the North Africa, Foggia, Rome-Arno, Southern France and the North Apennines campaigns. Color Inside the Lines is my homage to all members of the Greatest Generation, their sacrifices and the precious time they shared with me.
